Listen to the story of a time not that long ago, when the challenging work of Summer and Fall harvest was followed by the harsh cold bite of Winter. A story of War Veterans, Newfoundland Women and War Brides who unexpectedly became the Pioneers of the Upper Humber Land Settlement, Cormack. This story is as rugged as the Newfoundland coast and as true as any story you'd here on the island. Join us for a unique dining experience on our small sustainable farm.

Moose Sighting 
Expedition

Let us take you off the beaten path into our neck of the woods. Guided by a Newfoundland woodsman you will explore our annual harvesting grounds where we forage our main source of winter meat, the Mighty Moose. Be prepared to walk in the wild and rugged Newfoundland forest where you may face some rough terrain.

A great opportunity to take in the fresh air and the smell of forest debris as you scout for wandering Moose. Relax on the lookout with a cup of tea and a taste of Nan's homemade tea buns.

Let me share my mother's knowledge and understanding of the scared herbs of our ancestors. 

Let us sit by the flames and smoke of the fire and engage in a unique medicine wheel experiences that may guide us to a better understanding of ourselves.

Jamming Session

Newfoundland is famous for its foraged berry wines and delicate jams. Let us share our skills and knowledge of foraging nature's best local sweets in Cormack's backcountry.  This is a place to sample the flavours of naturally warm berries and forage an abundance for our jamming session back at the lodge. Listen to traditional Newfoundland artists as we unwind at the end of the excursion.

Momma's Bannock

I want to introduce you to a piece of my past, a staple of my childhood, and some of my fondest memories.

The smell on the stove top, the crisping sounds in the air, the cinnamon doused over top.
