Living off the Land Experience

Let us take you off the beaten path into our neck of the woods. Guided by a woodsman you will explore our annual harvesting grounds where we forage our main source of winter meat, the Mighty Moose. Be prepared to walk in the wild and rugged Newfoundland forest where you may face some rough terrain.

A great opportunity to take in the fresh air and the smell of forest debris as you scout for wandering Moose. Relax on the lookout with a cup of tea and a taste of Nan's homemade buns as we share stories and a unique taste of Newfoundland culture.

Permaculture
Homestead Tour

Our Small Sustainable Farm is our own custom design which integrates many different techniques and methods of the growing permaculture movement. On our small farm we grow food in systems which replicate natural ecosystems and encourages the growth of Mycelia (fungi). We use chemical free pest deterrents and prevent weeds from spreading using mulches and dense planting methods. Not to mention our use of repurposing and mitigating greenhouse gases. We work hard to create a zero waste management system and hope to implement our design principles on a larger scale. 

Stay in our FarmStay B&B and take in the farm and share your knowledge with us as we share our knowledge with you. Together we can be the change the world needs to see.

Berry Sweet Jamming Session

Newfoundland is famous for its foraged berry wines and delicate jams. Let us share our skills and knowledge of foraging nature's best local sweets in Cormack's backcountry.  This is a place to sample the flavours of naturally warm berries and forage an abundance for our jamming session back at the lodge. Listen to traditional Newfoundland artists as we unwind at the end of the excursion preserving our wildly foraged harvest.

Lumber, Toutons and Tea

A Guided Snowshoe Tour that takes in a traditional Newfoundland day in da woods. Learn how we spend our winter days cutting firewood, harvesting our own lumber, and clearing new farm land. Snowshoe includes a traditional mug up (full meal) cause like pop says everything tastes better in da woods.
